TROJAN
Designed for long term, unattended operation on energised transformers, the TOVS uses a combination of varying levels of heat & vacuum to reduce gases and moisture in the oil and cellulose insulation to very low levels.
The TOVS is simple to use, has numerous interlocked safety features, and includes remote monitoring & communications as standard.
Typically used as a portable piece of equipment on a stand or trailer, the TOVS can be used on a number of transformers annually.
Features – asset management
Accurate on-line water contamination Analysis
Understand the real oil / cellulose dielectric risk
Remove water in the insulation cellulose to exact levels
Reduce gas levels to below 0.15% by volume
Extend the natural life of the cellulose insulation and the transformer
Reduce operating costs
Features – using the TOVS
Connect to and leave unattended on energised transformers
Automated Commissioning cycle with screen prompting
Analysis Cycle to confirm water contamination levels
Water Removal Cycle –moisture removal to very low levels (selectable heating)
Degassing Cycle – gas removal with heating added (selectable)
Automated decommissioning cycle at removal
Very easy and safe to use
The Trojan Online Vacuum System (TOVS) can be safely connected to and left to operate unattended on any size energised transformer main tank. It provides a safe and cost effective solution for accurate water contamination analysis, water in cellulose reduction and gas from oil removal. With a sound history of reliability and many fail safe features, the TOVS provides transformer owners with an economical and effective alternative to current methods.
The TOVS is a portable system that uses a well proven vacuum & oil heating process for the following applications:
Removal of moisture, gases & particulate from the oil & insulating cellulose on energised transformers
Processing oil in bulk storage tanks
Filling or emptying power transformers
Operators find them simple and very easy to use, with screen prompting and colour coded valves. The TOVS requires minimal ongoing maintenance, and has a proven history of safe, unattended operation.
Typical performance specifications:
Water removal – from 50ppm to < 3ppm
Gas removal – from fully saturated with air (10% to 12% by volume) to <0.15% by volume
Particles – 1 micron @ Beta 1000. Cartridge filters are used for ease of replacement, no loss of oil when changing and low cost of replacement
Dielectric strength – Improvement of new oil to exceed 70Kv
Oil Heating (optional) – is by low watt density to prevent heat degradation of the oil. Elements are sheathed in tubes to provide uniform heating of oil.
Standard Features include:
Water in oil sensor on inlet oil line
Automatic shutdown & isolation from the transformer
Numerous interlocked safety features
Flow rate control
Remote monitoring, operation & data download
Touch screen PLC control & prompting
Single or three Phase options
